Theme: Exploring Science with Curiosity and Creativity
The Vigyana Saptaha (Science Week) at Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra was celebrated with great enthusiasm from 21st February to 28th February 2025. The event aimed to inspire scientific thinking, creativity, and innovation among students from Grades 1 to 7 through various competitions and activities.
Highlights of the Week
Day 1: 21st February 2025 – Inauguration and Opening Assembly
The celebration began with a special assembly conducted by Grade 6 students, featuring: A talk on C.V. Raman and his contributions to science.
The significance of celebrating National Science Day and its impact.
Day 2: 22nd February 2025 – Fancy Dress Competition (Grade 1)
The little scientists of Grade 1 participated in a Fancy Dress Competition, where they dressed up as famous scientists like C.V. Raman, Albert Einstein, and Marie Curie. Each student spoke about their chosen scientist’s contributions. The event was judged on costume creativity, presentation, confidence, and scientific knowledge. The assembly program was conducted by Grade 5 students and a speech about an Indian scientist. Science activity demonstrated by Grade 2B student.
Day 3: 23rd February 2025 – Speech & Invention Talk (Grade 3)
Students of Grade 3 presented speeches and storytelling sessions about various scientists and their innovations. The use of props, models, and charts made the session engaging. The assembly was led by Grade 4, featuring a talk on a scientist and life-changing inventions. Science activity demonstrated by Grade 3 student.
Day 4: 24th February 2025 – Puzzle-Solving Competition (Grade 2)
Students of Grade 2 participated in a puzzle-solving competition, solving science-based crosswords games. The event promoted logical thinking and problem-solving skills. The assembly program was led by Grade 2, where students dressed up as scientists and performed hands-on activities.
Day 5: 25th February 2025 – Science Quiz Competition (Grades 4 & 5)
An exciting Science Quiz Competition was conducted for Grades 4 and 5, covering topics like plants, animals, the human body, Earth, and inventions. The quiz included multiple-choice questions, a buzzer round, and rapid-fire questions and own idea on problem solving. It was a house wise competition. Teams showcased quick thinking and teamwork.
Day 6: 26th February 2025 – Documentary Submission (Grades 6 & 7)
Students of Grades 6 and 7 submitted their documentaries on “Science Behind Indian Mythology”. The best documentaries were recognized for their creativity, research, and presentation.
Day 7: 27th February 2025 – Poster-Making & Innovative Ideas Presentation (Grades 6 & 7)
Poster-Making Competition on the topic “Our Vedic Scientists” showcased creative posters depicting ancient Indian contributions to science. Innovative Ideas Presentation encouraged students to come up with scientific innovations to solve real-world problems.
Day 8: 28th February 2025 – Grand Science Exhibition & Valedictory Function
The grand finale of Vigyana Saptaha was the Science Exhibition, featuring: Working models and experiments prepared by students of Grades 4 to 7 in groups of 2-3 students. The exhibition was evaluated as part of SEA (Subject Enrichment Activity) for Science. Parents, teachers, and students visited the exhibition, appreciating the creativity and scientific.
